Position Purpose
The Financial Systems Business Analyst is responsible for supporting ARIAD’s Oracle 12i Financials, Procurement, and Project Accounting implementation and ensuring continual alignment with our changing business requirements. In addition to being knowledgeable of Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS), candidates should have prior experience supporting finance departments and possess a strong knowledge of current accounting principals as well as controls pertaining to Sarbanes-Oxley.
As a key member of the IT Applications team, the Senior Oracle Financials Specialist will serve as the primary liaison between IT and ARIAD’s Finance department supporting the day-to-day usage of Oracle and other financial systems within the department. He/she will develop and maintain a 2-3 year technology plan to support the needs of the Finance department to ensure optimal alignment of IT investment within the department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Oracle Financials Specialist would be expected to:
Analyze, define and document requirements to provide financial business processes within and around Oracle Financials, Project Accounting, Procurement as well as non-Oracle related applications.
Provide primary end-user support and training for automated systems within the ARIAD Finance department.
Coordinate with internal IT groups to ensure timely resolution of reported end-user issues within defined Service Levels
Support ARIAD’s existing and future business reporting needs using various Oracle tools including Discoverer.
Support of business interfaces with other applications as required
Develop and/or maintain functional and technical specifications documentation
Facilitate and/or participate in acceptance testing of new, enhanced, or corrected automation;
Provide end-user mentoring and training and verification that automation efforts are satisfying business requirements.
Key Skills and Attributes:
Position Requirements:College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and 5-7 years equivalent work experience using and/or supporting Oracle EBS. Candidates without a degree but possessing 7-10 year of Oracle EBS experience are encouraged to apply.
Solid working knowledge of the following Oracle EBS modules: G/L, AR, AP, FA, Cash Management, Procurement, iExpense, iProcurement and Project Accounting. Candidates with prior experience in R12 of Oracle EBS are a plus.
Proficiency with using ADI, Oracle Discoverer, Financial Statement Generator and PL/SQL to develop required financial reports
Experience developing functional & technical specifications and proficiency developing and maintaining test plans;
The incumbent must have outstanding adaptability and flexibility with sound knowledge of Accounting principles and SOX compliance
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Must be able to establish effective professional business relationships throughout the organization and with outside vendors.
Strong written, presentation and oral communication skills
Strong understanding and commitment to the IT organization’s goals and objectives.
Ability to conduct research into issues and products as required.
